Wiki Content evolution

This page contains notes on the tutorial video I will make to discuss wiki content evolution.

Use the demo site as an example. Delete a few pages and recreate them.

• You might think - should I use a plural; remember - no one can see this except you. Little "deviations from the standard" give it character.

• I should use Vacation Planning as the example. From a bulleted list to Headings and multiple lists, to multiple pages
  • First list
    • Vacation Planning Checklist
    • Sample Trip Plan
    • Upcoming Trips
    • Journals From Past Trips
    • Vacation Photography
  • Then the single outline grows and is divided by headers - I use the rule an outline can be max of one page length. I never want to have to scroll through an outline. If it can't fit on one page, then segment it by headers or into multiple pages. And like most rules, I have allowed exceptions from time to time... but no one will ever see this but me, so I can break my own rules whenever I want.
  • Guideline:
    • Don't make a header for just one bulleted list
    • Every bulleted list should have a paragraph above it describing the scope of the list - it could be one short, but complete sentence.
    • Every item in a bulleted list should use consistent sentence structure and punctuation
    • Make them MESE
    • If an item in the list "feels like it doesn't belong", it probably doesn't - make a new list or write a paragraph about it.
    • I wonder if we can integrate with Grammarly so that "Scratch Notes" get limited spell check
• Show my browser with 5 different tabs open of different wiki pages (at least two being edited), three ChatGPT sessions
• After using it for a few years, I now find myself much more likely to create a new page instead of a new header on an existing page. If I have enough to write about it to necessitate a header, then it won't be too long before it will need its own page. And you do have to manually create all of the inter-page links, and that can be a bit tedious, but with each one I create, I feel a sense of accomplishment because I know each new link will help me navigate my web more easily.
• In the video, choose an example page, click history and look at the edits. Review my pages with the most edits. Show a screenshot from history of a page on this date and next and next and flip throught them 1 second each in the video.
